As promised!  The new MTHTZ has finally arrived!  It’s been a busy few months getting everything lined up and I expect that “busy” to continue!  The “new” part of MTHTZ is that I am switching from just blogging to having produce to offer at our local farmers market, something I’m super excited about!

What’s Going On at MTHTZ

We have broken ground for the 2 additional growing areas this spring and are currently in full growing swing!  It was a rough start with heavy winter snows extending well into April.  But the plants are growing and I expect to be at The Freight House Farmers Market on May 26, 2018.  It will only be the beginning with more to follow!

  breaking new ground

I have intentionally chosen to start out small to allow for attention to detail as processes are put in to place for the best produce I can grow.  Time will tell what awaits MTHTZ’s future.

What you can expect from me is healthy hazard free produce.  I am not currently Organic Certified, but will not be applying any non-organic substances to the gardens.  That certification may come in the future, but it’s a bit of a lengthy process that will take some time.

Locally Grown

Everything is locally grown in Taylor Ridge, Illinois.  I’m so excited to start this adventure and meet people wanting to journey down that healthy lifestyle path starting with the foods we eat.

Each week, I plan to have a recipe for you to take (for free) as a suggestion of how to use at least one of the items I sell.  Hopefully, you’ll be able to find most everything you need from our Freight House Vendors!

More Than One Place To Shop

As the season gets “growing” I will also have produce available on the QC Buy Local website.  So if walking around the farmers market is difficult or inconvenient, you will have a way to get some of the same offerings online that can be picked up at one location already packed up for you!

I looking forward to being part of this Market and serving my community!  Hope to see you around market at vendor stall #215!
